Q: Do I need to book ahead of time for a tasting or other activity hosted on or by Waterford?
A: We encourage our guests to book for all our tasting room experiences to avoid disappointment. We are a popular destination on the local Wine Route thanks to our award-winning wine portfolio! Please note that bookings for 6+ guests are in fact mandatory.
We offer complimentary guided cellar tours on request. This, however, is not a guarantee as there may be unforeseen or extenuating circumstances that prevent us from taking a cellar tour during your visit. Please also note that no guest or group of guests is permitted to enter the cellar without one of our tasting room ambassadors.

Q: Do you have minimum or maximum group sizes for bookings?
A: For any groups larger than 6 guests, booking is essential. Our maximum booking size is 10, and our minimum is for 2 persons. For our Wine Drive Safari, our maximum booking size is 8. The maximum booking size for our Porcupine Trail Walk is 10 people.

Q: What is the easiest way to book a tasting experience?

Q: How far in advance should I book to avoid disappointment?
Bookings should be made as far ahead of time as logistics allow. For our Wine Drive Safari or Porcupine Trail Walk they must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance.
We require a 100% upfront deposit in order to secure your booking. This must be completed 7 days prior to the desired date.
You are able to prepay using our online reservation system, Dineplan. Alternatively, payment must be made on site during your visit. All bookings will have a payment request attached.

Q: Is there an age restriction on any tours at Waterford?
Unfortunately, children under the age of 7 are not permitted on the Wine Drive Safari or Porcupine Trail Walk due to safety regulations. Children are welcome to attend other tours, but no persons under the age of 18 are legally allowed to consume alcohol on our premises.

Q: What happens is the tour is cancelled due to bad weather?
A: The weather will not result in the cancellation of one of these experiences. We will be sure to tailor make an exclusive experience of the same calibre at our winery.

Q: Can one book for birthday parties, matric dance, engagement parties or wedding parties?
A: Unfortunately Waterford is not available for private bookings of this nature.

Q: What is your policy regarding cancellations, alterations and refunds?
A: We ask that you kindly notify us on any alterations to bookings (such as group size, time, etc.) in advance so that we can best accommodate your group.
A full refund is only eligible if the cancellation meets the following criteria:
- For tasting room experiences: a cancellation must be made 24 hours in advance
- For our Wine Drive Safari or Porcupine Trail Walk, a cancellation must be made 48 hours in advance to be eligible for a refund.
- Waterford Estate reserves the right to refuse service.
