Our journey is dedicated to capturing the unique character of the Helderberg Mountain in every bottle, producing wines that reflect the rich soils, diverse cultures, and vibrant ecosystems of South Africa.

Every sip of our wine reflects our commitment to quality and sustainability. With ecological balance at the heart of our vineyard practices, supported by our Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) certification, we embrace sustainable techniques to enhance grape quality and safeguard the environment.

Our regenerative approach

Our focus is on practices that promote soil health and biodiversity. We grow cover crops to reduce soil erosion and enhance water quality. Our livestock aerates the soil, while ladybugs naturally manage pests, supporting our organic approach. We also replace alien species with WWF-approved indigenous trees.

Seeing the process and the inner workings of true artistry in winemaking was fascinating, especially for someone like me who knows very little about it. However, the highlight was the vineyard tour in the Land Rover! Our guide was beyond superb: knowledgeable, and professional, and he struck the perfect balance between giving us space and inviting us back to try the endless Waterford creations. "Waterford hosted over 190 ladies in their beautiful, intimate courtyard for a delightful event. The thoughtfully selected three-course menu, paired with their exquisite wines, truly impressed us! The starter featured a light and flavourful tomato-based salad. The main dish was a pleasant surprise—pasta with chicken breast cooked to perfection and served hot. The dessert was equally refreshing and satisfying. The service was outstanding, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I give it five stars!"

“Bursting from the glass with juicy layers of complex dark fruit essences of blackberry jus and spiced plum compote, the 2016 The Jem offers gobs of sappy purple flowers and elegant oak essences. Full-bodied, firm and juicy, the palate is ripe, plush and still tannic before revealing layers of succulent red fruit tones that glide to an elegant and robust finish. It's a devastatingly gorgeous wine that has me craving flame-kissed ribeyes.”
